Habilitation
Habilitation is the highest universitary teaching qualification awarded after a longer examination procedure in a scientifinc sector (facultas docendi). The achknowledgement of this educational competence (facultas legendi) is the premise for the license to teach (venia legendi). With the habilitation shall be proved whether the academic person can represent his subject completely in research and teaching. It is neither a necessary nor an adequate, but often a deciding step, to be appointed to a professorship.
